The Nephrology Department is mainly responsible for the treatment of diseases of the kidney and urinary systems. The main diseases for treatment include acid-base and electrolyte disorders, glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and renal replacement therapy. Our department is also responsible for the management of hypertension and diabetic kidney complications, and we endeavor to prevent the progression into end-stage renal disease. If the disease has developed into end-stage renal disease, we will replace the kidney function through hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or kidney transplantation.
To provide a comfortable environment for patients to receive hemodialysis, the department is equipped with 29 hemodialysis machines and 17 professional nurses on duty every day.
Two beds particularly prepared for peritoneal-dialysis patients in the isolated room in the dialysis center, with expert nurses on duty every day.
The Nephrology Department involves most of the processes for kidney transplantation, which contains work-up for recipients and potential donors before transplantation, and patient care after transplantation. For successful kidney transplantation outcomes, we collaborate closely with the surgical department.
