World-class department of radiology, with passion and patient-centered consideration
The main roles of the department of radiology can be classified under three categories.
First, acquisition and reading of all diagnostic images (x-ray, ultrasonography, CT, MRI, angiography, etc.), and role as a consultant to referring physicians.
Second, patient treatment via minimally invasive, image-guided intervention.
Third, management of all procedures related to diagnostic images, from acquisition, post-processing, to transmission.
In addition to merely supporting clinicians via image interpretation, the role of the radiology department as a direct caregiver in patient treatment is becoming increasingly important. Examples include trans-catheter embolization of hepatocellular carcinoma, non-surgical treatment of peripheral vascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, or abdominal disease such as urinary tract or hepatobiliary abnormalities. Moreover, cutting-edge technologies such as functional imaging, MR spectroscopy, or artificial intelligence-aided imaging are also incorporated in our daily practice.
