Introduction to the Department
Emergency medicine plays a pivotal role in the health care system. The emergency practitioners in the department of Emergency Medicine at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital provide excellent emergency care to every visitors around the clock. We recognize the critical role of our hospital as a tertiary referral center in our community. Therefore, our department is prepared and equipped to provide comprehensive emergency care to every spectrum of emergencies in consultation with appropriate medical and surgical specialties to treat acute illnesses and injuries. Our department also has been playing a leading role in developing regional emergency care policy as well as providing public health educations especially in cardiopulmonary resuscitation area.
Besides serving excellent patient care, our department is also famous for its research activities. A lot of our research papers has been published in high profile medical journals including the famous New England Journal of Medicine. . We conduct a number of clinical trials exploring new medical treatments and technologies, and coordinate many multicenter, emergency department-based research.
