Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Plastic surgery is subdivided into areas such as congenital anomalies, breast reconstruction, hand, aesthetics, and trauma, and specialized treatment and research are conducted in each field. 52 ward is used as inpatient wards, and outpatients are operated on the 2nd basement floor of Building 1 to provide better quality medical treatment to patients.
Prof. Rong-Min Baek and Prof. Baek-kyu Kim have been more active in the treatment of congenital malformations, and more advanced treatment has been achieved through efficient linkage with speech therapy rooms. Every year, we visit Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Indonesia to provide medical service for children with facial deformities. In Mongolia and Vietnam, we invite children with facial deformities who are difficult to operate to perform surgery.
Prof. Chan-Young Heo, Professor Jae-Hoon Jeong, and Prof. Yujin Myung have close connection with Department of Surgery for breast reconstruction, which made them more active. In addition, Professor Eun Seok-chan's hand surgery, skin cancer field are on a steady increase in patients, and are contributing greatly to surgery and research in this field.
Outpatient operating rooms, skin care rooms, speech therapy rooms, laser rooms, etc. are in operation, and the number of outpatient cosmetic surgeries under local anesthesia is continuously increasing. With the introduction of nasopharyngeal endoscopy, speech therapy was more actively conducted, and the introduction of state-of-the-art equipment such as laser and ultrasound equipment made various procedures possible.
